Weston Red Barn Farm

Well we're finally all feeling better so we took Sienna to Weston, MO to the Red Barn Farm. They have lots of animals, a country store, food, pony rides, & hay rides, and mazes in the corn. We took a hay ride out to a pumpkin patch. She had a blast, but did hate how the vines in the patch kept getting wrapped around her ankles. It was 80 that day so everyone is at the pumpkin patch in shorts & tank tops. Not exactly the fall pictures I was thinking of, can't believe how hot it was for October.

pumpkin decorating & hanging at home

Well I'm gonna try to get back on track with this blog. Our Parents as Teachers group had a pumpkin decorating day at the park by our house. Sienna wanted nothing to do with putting on the eyes, nose, or mouth. She just wanted to scribble on it with markers.

She's very into pulling out drawers & climbing into them to sit. Hmmmm I wonder where she got that from?

Hanging out with Daddy. She gets really excited and into her stories.

Visit to Indiana

Well been in Indiana visiting family & friends. It was my nephew Ashton's 3rd birthday. We had a great time and have been crazy busy since being back so I'm finally getting around to the blog. Sienna had a great time with Ashton and calls him "Ashy". Ever since we left she's been getting on her play phone & saying "Hi Ahsy" & then laughing a deep belly laugh like he's on the phone doing something funny. So cute. Well here's a few pictures from the visit.

Grandparents Visit

My parents were here this weekend. It rained the whole time so all my planned outdoor activities didn't happen. Sienna warmed up to them pretty quick and we had a good time finding indoor things to do. This is us at the Dinosaur Restaurant.

Snugglin' with Grandma.

At the Wonderscope Museum.

Sometimes I'm not sure who's the bigger kid.

15th month appt

So Sienna had her 15th month check-up the other day.  First time with the new doc here & Sienna responded fairly well to her.  She had a good approach and would look in Mommy's ear then in Sienna's, etc.  She was 31 inches tall (77th percentile) and 21 lbs 9 oz (32nd percentile).

The Dr. is concerned about her low weight & was asking my about her eating.  I swear she eats a lot and almost anything that's put down in front of her.  Family & friends can attest to this.  And if she finishes before we do she then wants the food off of our plates.  I'm hoping she's just taking after Paul with the tall & thin thing and nothing's wrong.  We'll see where she's at in 3 months and I was told to feed her as often as she wants, which we already do.  She's just always climbing & running.  I hope its just that she's burning it off.

She got 3 shots and this is sad, yet cute:  All day she would  point to her thighs & say "owie" & then start crying.  I would comfort her, then she'd go play for awhile & then stop, point to her thighs & say "owie" again & then start crying.  It was hard crying too.  The cycle went on till bedtime every 30 min to 1 hr or so all afternoon.  She definitely has the concept of "owie".  It was just so funny how she'd stop playing & remember it every so often.  That night when reading Humpty Dumpty when we got to the picture of the cracked egg with the band-aids on his head she pointed to his band-aids and said "owie" & then bent down & gave Humpty a kiss on his "owie".

Zoo & 1st Bike ride

We've been busy, busy, busy. Last weekend, on Sat & Sun we went up to the Omaha Zoo. We've been hearing what a great zoo it was & people were right. It's so fun now that Sienna is into the animals. The first picture is kinda fuzzy, but this gorilla just came right up to the window & stared at Sienna for a really long time. It was cool & yet kinda creepy.

Sienna loves monkeys and she when right up to grab this one on the wall.

Paul actually thought the stroller would fit through here? Walking worked much better & Sienna really enjoyed it.

Sienna waiting in the car while I take the bike off the bike rack. Is she a girl or what? Cell phone in hand & the way she's sitting!

This is her first time on the bike and she looks so cute in the bike helmet.

She kept tapping the seat to let me know she wanted in. Not really wanting pictures right now. It's very hilly here & there was a couple times I had to stop & walk the rest of the way up the hill cause my thigh muscles felt like they were falling off my bones. Every time I stopped she'd both sign & say "more". So guess she likes biking

Sick

Haven't posted for awhile cause first Sienna was sick & then she passed it to me. Not a surprise when your feverish child is constantly smearing her snot all over you. Anyway she's better and I'm starting to feel better.

Paul's parents were here for Labor Day weekend. I was pretty bad at taking photos though. Paul's dad helped him finish our picnic table.

When not being used as a picnic table it can be used as benches.

They also spoiled Sienna with "an early Christmas present"...............a slide since she loved the neighbors so much. And an art easel, but I only have photos of the slide.

Now for the landing.

She's not that great at landing on her feet yet.

"Brush it off, brush it off." That's what we say to her when she falls and she always takes her hands and brushed them together when we say it.

Sienna being a typical mooch even though she just finished her dinner. The kid can eat!
